Here's a museum that should be on the bucket list of any cat lover. The KattenKabinet in Amsterdam is filled with cat-inspired artwork - with a few real cats in residence too!
Among all the exhibits you may find some real cats posing just for you. |
The Virgin with Child, Cat and Snake by Rembrandt. |
It's a fun place to visit but includes works by some serious artists, including Picasso, Rembrandt, Toulouse-Lautrec and Steinlen. There are paintings, sculptures, posters and books about cats.
The Cat by Picasso |
Here are two works, by Jacques Adnet (left) and Lies Lobatto (right) |
A pinball machine with, below, Grizabella's costume (left) and a cat mummy (right). |
It's a small museum with just four rooms of displays and artwork, all housed in a canalside building.
It's definitely on my list of places to visit.
Take a look at the book below - written by Toffee, the sassiest cat in the world!

ReplyDeleteAnother great lover of his cat. Much as I have loved my pets, not sure I would go to the lengths of some of these cat owners.
